Language Trips


In the Languages Team we place great value on the practical use of languages in real situations.      

We feel there is no better way for a pupil to get to grips with our subjects than to actually experience, hear, speak, see and absorb the languages and cultures in the native countries.

For this reason we currently offer trips to Paris, Barcelona and Cardiff.  Below is our schedule for forthcoming trips;

  • Paris March 2013 – for current Year 9 pupilsVisits Include:le Musée du Louvre, les Tours Eiffel et Montparnasse, le Stade de France, Disneyland Paris, France Miniature, la Seine et plus….
  • Cardiff  June 2013 for current Year 9 pupils. As all pupils will be studying Welsh in Years 10 & 11 this trip will   provide them with experiences that they can talk and write about during the GCSE course.Visits include:the Stadiwm y Mileniwm, Bae Caerdydd , Canolfan y Mileniwm,  Senedd Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru (Welsh Assembly Government), Pwll Mawr (Big Pit), Sain Fagan ( St Fagan’s), Techniquest a llawer mwy…
  • Barcelona 2014 – for current Year 9 pupils opting for GCSE or NVQ Spanish when they are in Year 10 & current Year 10 pupils studying NVQ Spanish when they are in Year 11 (2013-2014). This trip is also open, places permitting, to other pupils, especially those currently studying or planning to take GCSE Art as an option.
    Visits include:El estadio Nou Camp, Parc Guëll, Casa Batlló, Font Màgica, las Ramblas, Port Vell, la Torre Agbar y mucho más……

New arrangements for making payments for Language Trips

Language Trip Payments Schedule 2012-2013

From Monday 22nd April 2013 onwards, payments should be made upstairs in Block 6 in Finance to Mrs Liz Anthony.

In this way payments can be paid in and signed for and a receipt given immediately.

Pupils are only to do this before morning registration, at break time, lunchtime or after school, and are not to leave lessons to do so.

Cheques should be made payable to Rhyl High School and should have your child’s name, form, Trip Year and Destination written on the back.

All payments, whether cheque or cash, should be sent in an envelope which should be clearly labelled with your child’s name, form, Trip Year and Destination.

The first payment, which is non-refundable, must be accompanied by the reply slip, copies of which can be can be requested from any of the Languages Team, or downloaded from:
