Rhyl Coastal Defence Scheme Logo Competition

Pupils at from all over Rhyl were recently invited to design a logo that will be used to promote the West Rhyl Coastal Protection  Scheme.

This logo will be used in publicity material.

300 entries were received and 2 pupils from Rhyl High were in the top three –
Max Hughes in Yr 7 (At Ysgol Llywelyn at the time of judging)  came 3rd whilst
Lauren Davies Yr 9 took first prize.

They both received £10 vouchers and Lauren’s design will be used in all the leaflets and posters which will be used to publicize the scheme. As the winning design came from a pupil at Rhyl High, we have won a weather station and this has been installed on the school site so that pupils can access the information and use it in their studies.

You can access the data from the weather station at :

There is also a WebCam which provides an image on the home page of the school website.
