Our Governors

Mike Harris

Parent Governor Mike Harris runs a local balloon decorating business with his wife.

Mike is also the Health and Safety Governor.

Ian Howe – LEA Governor

I have been a Governor for almost 20 years and was a pupil at the school.

As a businessman I know the value of a good education and I want to ensure that the pupils of Rhyl High have the best opportunity to achieve their potential.

My special interests at the school are in Attendance, Business, Finance and Maths.

Councillor Pat Jones

“I have worked in the community for twenty years on various boards.

I am a member of the Credit Union Board and chair of the Adventure Playground for many years.

I have served on many community groups; have been a town councillor for 16 years and I am now serving my second term of four years on Denbighshire County Council.

I was also a governor at Ysgol Emmanuel for 5 years.”

Catherine Patterson

“I am a Parent Governor who has a daughter in Year 10 and a son who will join Rhyl High School in a couple of years.

I believe that the children of Rhyl deserve the best possible start to their adult lives, and I believe Rhyl High School now offers them that opportunity.”

Andrew Riley

“I am a Bank Manager and have lived in Rhyl all my life.

I am a previous pupil of the school.

I began as a parent governor; my children have now left the school. I have now been appointed as a LEA governor.”
